The PhoXi 3D Scanner from Photoneo can be deployed in a wide range of applications that require the power of vision-guided robots. One of the industries that can benefit from automation is timber processing.

The German HOB – Die Holzbearbeitung magazine describes a project implemented in a production facility in Slovakia, which sought to develop and implement a unique, modular, and universal robotic cell for packaging heavy furniture parts.

These boards come in stacks and need to be placed into packing boxes that are moving on a conveyor belt. Given the high requirements on resolution, speed, and accuracy, the customer decided for the 3D vision from Photoneo.
