Heat exchangers are object that require extremely gentle and precise manipulation. How can the process of their quality check be automated?

First of all, the robots need to be equipped with perfect 3D vision to handle the glossy aluminum material and the complex geometry of the exchangers’ thin metal surface.

The Czech portal Orobotice (“About robotics”) reports on a project for Daikin Czech Republic in Pilsen, for which Photoneo provided a custom-made solution consisting of its robotic intelligence system for precise localization and picking of objects – the Bin Picking Studio – and 3D vision in the form of a PhoXi 3D Scanner.
