Metrology News takes a looks at the automated inspection of seals for Brett Martin Ltd‘s push-fit soil systems. The application required a robust 3D vision system so the integrator Fisher Smith Ltd decided to deliver a machine vision solution from Photoneo.

In the application, the robot positions each seal in front of Photoneo PhoXi 3D Scanner to make a 3D scan and reveal potential short-shots. If the seal passes the quality check, the robot places it onto a cooling conveyor. If it fails, the robot places it among rejected parts.
