Watch: PhoXi 3D scanner used by National Physical Laboratory for 3D crop scanning

December 9, 2019

This video was broadcasted by BBC London and explains how the Crop Department at the National Physical Laboratory has been using the PhoXi 3D Scanner to analyse crops in 3D.

It helps farmers to control the process of supply and maximise crop efficiency. Thanks to the high-quality 3D data the farmers can identify which crops give the greatest yield or have tolerances to disease and drought, know if the crops need water or fertilizer and when exactly to harvest.

This allows to develop crops that are more tolerant to harsh environment and keep the cost of food down. This is why the technology is so groundbreaking not only for farmers but also consumers.

A big thanks also goes to our partner MultiPix Imaging.
